I have been trying to get to you all for about one month and just could not manage to do so. I am in a period of transformation...
First transformation and the one that is taking most of my time, is a major refurbishing of our home. Jean has been gone for one and a half year now and would you believe that all his things were like he left them... Maybe, deep inside my heart, I was secretly harboring a bit of hope of him coming back... soon... But when I met him, in Ecuador, at Christmas time, this bit of hope abandoned me completely!
There, in Ecuador, I met a man so full of energy, so motivated, so serene and so absolutely sure he is living his live the only way it should be lived that there is no doubt in my mind that he will accomplish what he has set to do... He has even revised the estimated time of his journey and prolonged it by two years. His quest is deeply-rooted in his whole being and he seems to be surrounded by an aura of peace and serenity.
Seeing each other, after a whole year, was... well... wonderful! In a way we were as close as if we had parted the day before... must be all that emailing! But in another way, I was seeing a new man... taller... and more handsome still... Hum! I really had been missing him!!!
Ecuador! Would you believe I fell in love with that beautiful small country! There is so much to tell that I cannot do it in this newsletter otherwise it will never be sent. What I plan to do is make new pages with lots of photos and links describing:
➢ The wonderful people we met...
➢ The very nice hotels we stayed in (free of charge for half the time) : www.ecuadorianfantasy.com and their professional staff...
➢ The city of Baños with its pools of volcanic mineral hot water, which did wonders for my arthritis...
➢ The "Mitad del Mundo" Latitude 00°00' 00" where there are two marvelous museums both worth seeing...
➢ The majestic Andes with the air nice and crisp but not cold...
➢ The incredible variety of delicious exotic fruits...
And the list goes on and on...
Jean is now in Peru. He was in Mancora on January 29th. He plans to be in Lima at the end of March. All is well with him! Would you believe he has walked close to 10,000 kilometers???
We are now working very hard to create a Foundation which will enable him to receive donations. Jean's money is dwindling dangerously now... and we want to start actually doing something for at least one child victim of violence...
After refurbishing our home, we will start redoing the Website again... always nicer and more convivial... In the meantime, you can follow Jean by going to the www.wwwalk.org , click on "Route" and you will know where he is at that moment. I update this page as soon as receive news from him.
Till nest time...
Luce
