On the 24th of November, Jean arrives in Pine Hill, AL where he sleeps in a motel, courtesy of the owner of the motel. Thank you, dear Sir, for your kindness. When Jean told me, on the phone, about your good deed, he couldn't find your name in all his notes.
On the 25th,it is back on the road. He walks as far as a little south of Thomasville where he sleeps under a bridge.
On the 26, he sleeps under the stars without even thinking of the possibility of... snakes!!!! Good thing I am not with him when he does dangerous things like that... otherwise... well he just wouldn't do it!!! I'd see to it!!!
On the 27th, straight South till a bit passed Wagarville where a State Park Attendant lets him pitch his tent in a beautiful Rest area.
On the 28th, Jean walks in Mount Vernon where he sees a policeman and inquires as to a place where he could spend the night. This nice policeman offers him a choice between sleeping in the Courthouse or... in a prison cell... with prisoners in it... Well, that's a challenge and a half!!! And that's what he chooses. There he goes behind bars where a cell companion acquires good points by waiting on him. What an experience!!!
On the 29th, in Creola, about 15 miles from Mobile, he meets Bill Howell who invites him to stay at his home for 2 nights. Mobile being a fairly big city, Jean likes to establish his contacts before moving into the city. So, on the 30th, Bill drives Jean to Mobile where he goes to the newspaper, The Mobile Register. Then, he goes to the Chamber of Commerce where he meets Judy who will work hard to find him a place to stay for 3 days... You will have to wait till next week to know where...
Till next week then...
