On October 6th, Jean is in South Boston, VA. Apparently, there is road construction on highways close to Danville, so he decides to modify his course towards Roxboro, NC.
Tent nights on the 6th and 7th. Surprisingly for that way down South, it sometimes freezes at night. But with a good sleeping bag, Jean still feels warm enough.
On the 8th, he reaches Roxboro NC. He is talking with some Roxboro citizens when a policeman joins the group and directs him towards " The Innkeeper ".
The innkeeper of " The Innkeeper ", Chris Phillips, is a darling of a man who keeps Jean for 3 days. Isn't it heaven after 6 days in a row sleeping in the tent. What a wonder to be able to shower every day.
Funny how Jeans' journey makes me think we are lucky and not grateful enough... We are surrounded by blessings that we are not aware of most of the time... Should we work on developing our conscience of our well being a little more???
On the 11th, he sleeps in his tent in a village called Carr. On the 12th he arrives in Burlington. He has a sore and swollen knee... could it be his running shoe that he fixed himself with a piece of rubber he found on the side of the road and a tube of glue? He will sleep on that in his tent, in Burlington, NC...
Till next week...
